With the former Minister of Sports Mr. Fikile Mbalula

The Basketball club puts out 20 teams on fixture days.  The open division comprises of a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th team.  There are 3 teams each in the U16 and U15 age group, as well as 4 teams in the U14 age group.  Basketball remains a sport to be reckoned with, both here in Pretoria and in Johannesburg.  The College plays competitive friendlies in summer, against our traditional boys’ school rivals and then competes in the Pretoria League during winter.  All teams play in summer, but only our U14A, U15A, U16A AND 1ST team plays in winter.

Mr Victor Fouda, our Master–in–Charge of Basketball, has wanted to broaden the tours that our players go on and as a result, our U16s have been invited to the St John’s College Basketball Tournament in 2011. The 1st team basketball compete at the St John’s tournament as well as the DHS tournament and we also have a team that competes in the Kearsney College Stayers Tournament. In 2015 the 1st Basketball team went on an International tour to America and plan to tour overseas every 3 to 4 years.
